To find a MicroBT WhatsMiner's IP address: (1) Open Asic Miners Tool on your smartphone or PC connected to the miner's Wi-Fi or LAN. (2) Click Start Listening in IP Finder. (3) Press the physical IPFOUND button on the WhatsMiner controller for 3–5 seconds until the LED flashes, then release. The IP address and MAC address will be captured and displayed. Open the IP in a web browser to configure pools (default credentials: admin / admin).
01
Check the network connection
Connect your computer or phone to a network that can reach the WhatsMiner. Wait for the controller to boot. Physical IP reporting usually requires the same broadcast network.
02
Start listening for an IP report
In Asic Miners Tool, open IP Finder and start listening. Press the WhatsMiner’s IPFOUND button for the duration specified in that model’s manual, then release it. Indicator behavior and timing differ by model. Do not use Reset or recovery procedures.
03
Open the reported IP
A compatible WhatsMiner report identifies its IP and MAC address. Open the IP in a browser and use your current miner login when prompted. The website itself does not scan your network.
04
Scan instead of pressing a button
Select the actual local IP range and run discovery. API availability and firmware determine the readings and configuration operations the app can offer.
05
If nothing arrives
Check network isolation, firewall rules, cables and controller readiness. Close another IP reporter if it occupies the same local port. Consult the model’s official instructions before repeating a button sequence; do not power-cycle while holding buttons as a discovery shortcut.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the WhatsMiner IPFOUND button work?
Pressing the IPFOUND button triggers the WhatsMiner controller to send a broadcast packet over the local network segment with its IP and MAC address. Listening applications like Asic Miners Tool detect this signal and identify the machine immediately.
What is the default username and password for WhatsMiner?
The factory default username and password for MicroBT WhatsMiner web dashboards is admin / admin. On some custom or farm firmware builds, the credentials may be super / super or root / root.
How long do I hold the IPFOUND button?
Hold the IPFOUND button for approximately 3 to 5 seconds until the network indicator flashes, then release it. Avoid holding the Reset button by mistake.
